Warning: debian/ubuntu pakages are outdated, only debian testing ships and up to date package (as of 2020-04) !
That's why the recommended installation is by git repe, installed in ~/.rbenv/plugins/ruby-build:
$ mkdir -p "$(rbenv root)"/plugins
$ git clone https://github.com/rbenv/ruby-build.git "$(rbenv root)"/plugins/ruby-build
OLD: as .deb
sudo apt install ruby-build
Get new ruby version
rbenv install x.y.z
Workaround for ruby < 2.4
